House Projects

Summer 2017

We decided to get rid of all the carpet downstairs and on the stairs too. We came up with the brilliant idea to paint as much possible before the floors were done, so it wouldn't matter if we spilled a bit of paint. Dave started painting the doors (I think he got 1 done) and took off to Scout camp. I did the rest of the doors and painted the hall too. I also stained and painted the stairs. And the living room. Dave did help by painting the entryway and stairway.

When it was finally time to do the floors, we had to put everything in the garage. We would pull out our camping table and lawn chairs at night.

We had workers come each day for a week to pull up the carpet and tile and lay laminate plank.

We love the way it turned out.

Things snowballed and we decided not to put our nasty, falling apart couch back inside. So, of course, we needed a new one.

I dreamed of a life without chords sticking out all over the place. We found this little cabinet to put all our devices and remoted in. We drilled a hole in back to have the chord come out of. I love it!

We couldn't let the laundry room be the sore thumb of the downstairs, so I painted the cabinets and the walls. We couldn't just paint over the kids' heights, so we bought this giant ruler to transfer their stats onto.

We finished things up by buying carpets and curtains.
