Wickedly Good

Friday, September 28, 2012

On Friday night we took the girls to see Wicked at the Smith Center.  We started with dinner at Outback then headed to the show.

Both girls have performed songs from the show in choir and Hollywood Kids, so we were familiar we the music and very excited to see the production.  I had read the book and hated it, so I was very curious to see how the story would be portrayed.

The show was amazing, just like the book but WAY BETTER!  It made me want to buy season tickets to see more shows at The Smith Center.

1st Sleepover

Friday, September 21-Saturday, September 22, 2012

Seth had his first sleepover with Cayson, his best friend from school.  The Allens took Camryn for the night and Seth was especially excited about the exchange.  The boys played a little and after dinner we headed out to watch Seth's baseball game.  We got in late and boys watched part of a movie before going to sleep in their matching Cars sleeping bags. We got up early to clean the church.  Seth and Cayson were in charge of collecting the trash bags from the classroom and were rewarded with donuts.

The boys just hung out the rest of the day.  We made bleached Fong Dragon shirts for Cayson and their teacher, Mrs. Janeksela.  In the afternoon, we met up with the Allens at the Town Square Park to hang out a little and exchange kids.

Adoption Day

We celebrated Alexis' 11th Adoption Day by going to one of her favorite places to eat - Zabas.  We are so blessed to have her in our family.

Labor Day Weekend

Friday, September 28-Monday, October 1, 2012

We headed up to the cabin after school on Friday.  We traded Alexis for Zack, so the teenage girls could all drive together.  Ryan brought Heidi, so it was a lot of 14 year old girls.

It was a rocky start to the weekend with everyone mad at each other about where they were sleeping, but we got over it quick and had a good weekend.  The cabin was overflowing with our family, Ryan's family, Jacquelynn's family, and Jolynn & Paul.

Saturday we all just hung around the cabin, but in the evening, we got the kids to move rock to make a pathway to and around the campfire.  Then we had dinner and the dads took some of the kids fishing.

Sunday we all went to church then Chris took each individual family's pictures.   We took the kids on some rough roads in the back of the truck.

We were bouncing around like crazy, but JuJu still managed to fall asleep.

The afternoon brought some surprises. Seth caught a lizard and ......

Chase ate a worm. Gross!

Sunday night we had a family talent show.  Jo & Paul did the dance from the end of Dirty Dancing.  It was pretty disturbing.

The night ended with a competition to see who could hold on to the log poles in the family room the longest.  It was hilarious and kept us entertained for quite a while.

Monday morning we cleaned, then we headed down to Parowan for the Iron County Fair.  The best part of the fair was these giant balls the kids got inside of and scampered around a large wading pool in.

We checked out the 4H Petting Zoo,

and rode carnival rides, before eating lunch at Brad's Food Hut and heading home.

Good times, noodle salad!
