Ice skating

Friday, January 1, 2016

We had a pretty boring Winter Break, with Seth being sick so much, so we decided we needed a little adventure before going back to school.  We took the kids ice skating.

We tried helping the littler kids, but finally broke down and rented some of the walkers, so they could get around on their own.

Seth and Caden stuck with it and got pretty good at skating, but Mason and Cam said their feet hurt and hung out in the lobby watching youtube videos.

The rest of us stuck it out for about an hour and a half.

I was skating around taking pictures, when I lost my balance.  I fell, I fell hard. I had tried to catch myself with my hand and hurt it. after a week of just wrapping it up, I got an x-ray and found out I had a slight fracture. I ended up in a splint for about 5 weeks.

After skating, we dropped off the cousins and headed to Mayaco's for an early dinner.  Dave and I wanted to have a weight loss challenge and we want to beef up before our weigh in. Even with my "sports injury", it was a fun outing.

New Years Eve

Thursday, December 31, 2015

Even though Ryan and his family were out of town, they still hosted New Years Eve.  Bo's family, Jo's family, Lee's kids, the Shafers the Goons, and the Stanleys all met up at Ryan's to potluck snacks and play games.

We watched the Vegas countdown on TV and drank sparkling cider. The kids were excited to stay up so late.

Cam played games with us for a bit, then rand in the New Year with Kyla.

Lex went to a party at Paige Lee's house and then a group of kids went to the Anthem Golf Course to watch the fireworks from above the city.

We all made it home, with Lee's kids spending the night, by about 12:30 am, ready for everything the New Year will bring.

Santa Came!

Friday, December 25, 2015

Santa brought Lex a laptop to take to college.

He brought Camryn a new bed frame. He just forgot she would need s box spring to go with it.

And Seth totally scored with an adult sized drum kit. I hope the neighbors don't mind!

We had a pretty quite day until that evening when the family got together for games, nacho supremes, and our annual Ping Pong Tournament.

Christmas Eve

Thursday, December 24, 2015

Donna came over and we had a big Christmas Eve Dinner.  dave deep fried a turkey and we had tons of mashed potatoes.

While Dave cleaned up dinner, I read The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey to the rest of the family. It always makes me tear up.  Then we were ready to open presents.

Lex got lots of clothes (she loves stripes), Donna got things the kids picked out themselves this year.

The family got an XBox from Donna and seth was very excited to get games to play on it. Cam is officially past the kiddy stage and mostly got clothes also.

Dave got a heater, an attachment to his camping grill, and new movies.

I got a new camera and so we had a little photo shoot with all our wrapping paper.

We were all pretty spoiled this year.

The ended the night with new games and a movie.
