The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow

Wednesday, June 15, 2011

Wednesday we took our annual trip to Spring Mountain Ranch to watch a play. This year we saw Annie.

We took a picnic and hung out, waiting for the play to start.

Seeing all the young girls in the play, got Camryn thinking about going to the auditions for next year's plays. I guess I need to research what kind of commitment that would be.

Sister Borla, in our ward, put on an art camp that we signed Camryn up for. They used many different mediums and techniques.

The project came out so cool. This mask was my favorite.

Cam was especially proud off this painting. Using canvas made her feel like a true artist.

It was a fun few days, ending with a pool party on Friday. The kids learned a lot and had a good time.

Thursday, June 9, 2011 (technically June 10)

Alexis wanted to have a get together with a few friends to celebrate the last day of school. She talked me into taking the girls Midnight Bowling. I agreed thinking the others moms would so no and I would be off the hook. Well, the other moms must be cooler than I expected. Alexis also wanted to make a cake for the occasion, but decided on these cupcake instead. Alexis and the twins made them by themselves with just a little guidance from me.

We picked up all the girls and brought them back to our house to have their treat. Then we headed to the South Point. My SIL Chris came and brought her girls and kept me company.

The girls played two games, involving a lot of giggling and screaming. They had a good time and the ride home invovled even more giggling. I was ready for bed.

Oh, The Things You Can Think

Saturday, June 4, 2011

Camryn's Hollywood Kids class put on Suessical, Jr. On Friday they had a really bad dress rehearsal-they only got through about half the show. I started having my doubts about them pulling off the show.

Camryn tried out for a few parts, and got the part of Mayzie, a bird of questionable morals that leaves her egg for Horton the Elephant to sit on while she parties in Palm Beach.

One of Camryn's best friends, Savanah joined Hollywood Kids this year.

We had a great carpool with 6 girls in our ward.

They had 2 performances. At the 11 o'clock show, the lounge chair Camryn was supposed to sit in collapsed and she forgot about 3 lines in her most tongue twistery song. The second show went much better. Her character is always making everything about her, so Camryn fit the role perfect. It was really cute, even the kids who were painfully shy.

Third Time's a Charm

Wednesday, June 1, 2011

Seth has been going to preschool for 3 years, because I was the teacher. He has finally officially graduated. There were 7 kids in my class this year - Seth, Cole, Lauren, Kaden, Abby, Audrey, and Nathan (Cody was in for a few months before he moved too.) We had a little program where I talked about the things the kids learned this year and they sang songs.

Then I talked about each kid and their favorite things about preschool and they each received a certificate.

After the program, we had lemon cake and sherbet. The parents visited and the kids played.

The moms had arranged to make me this cute vase. I love it! It was a great year and I will miss these little ones next year.
