Easter 2015

Saturday, April 4, 2015

We got up Saturday morning to get our eggs dyed before the Hunt.

Lex and Bo hid the eggs.

And the little ones went to find them. Jude mostly threw them on the ground.

Bo had hid all the real eggs together, still in the carton.  The kids surprisingly had a hard time finding them.

We had hot dogs and hamburgers for lunch and then watched conference together.

Spring Break

March 28 - April 5, 2015

We kicked off our Spring Break with a swim day at Lee's house. We got pizza and hung out at the pool. The kids tried having chicken fights.

We also went to the new Downtown Summerlin to check out Cream, an ice cream shop where you order ice cream sandwiches - cookies with a huge scoop of ice cream in between.

On Monday, Seth and I met up with some friends from Fong ES at the Town Square Park. Seth, Judah, and Autumn got wet at the Splash Pad and played hide-and-go-seek in the maze.

That night, Dave surprised me with a Staycation at the Red Rock Hotel. We went to dinner and a movie and I enjoyed the giant bathtub. It was nice to get away for a night. Dave thought I seemed a little stressed with work lately and needed the break.

We drove up to Utah on Wednesday. The girls stayed in Paragoonah, while the boys headed to the cabin to go fishing. Mom took us to a friends' house to see their newborn lambs. These little guys were only a few hours old.

We had brought along, Sam, from Alexis soccer team, so she and Lex could attend a Soccer ID camp at SUU.

Lex and Sam wondered around the town after dinner and got some rustic looking pictures.

And some silly ones.

We had a campus tour on Thursday. It was so cold! We got to check out the school and the dorms. The girls then played soccer the rest of the day, while Cam, Mom, and I went to see Insurgent and hang out at the house. Lex and Sam had their camp all day Friday too. It seemed to go well, both girls started whenever they played.

Mom and I spent our Friday taking Cam for her first driving lesson.  Once she learned to ease up on the break, she did pretty well.

Friday afternoon, the boys returned from the cabin, we picked up the girls in Cedar and headed home.

NRW

March 2-6, 2015

The theme for Nevada Reading Week was "Be a Superhero. . .Read".  We had a door decorating contest so I joined in with this Spiderman door and the Kinder hall was all deck out with a city-scape and the hero the kids made.

Monday was Mix and Match Day. We wore unmatching clothes and had a game where students had to match the teacher's name with a picture of them holding their favorite book in front of their face.

We had Tops and Toes Tuesday with our Crazy Hair and Crazy Socks.  The kids did an author walk that day, visiting different classrooms and learning about an author that class was studying.

Seth made a shirt for Wordy Wednesday with all the text from Green Eggs and Ham on it. We also played Book Bingo that afternoon.

Thursday was Dress like a Character or Superhero Day. I was Captain America and Seth was Tom Fitzgerald from the Great Brain series.

We also had Literacy Night that night. We had activities throughout the school like a book photo booth in the library, a book swap, and other reading games. At the end we had a drawing for book bags with books, games, and a bike.

Friday was Relax & Read Day, with everyone wearing PJs. Throughout the week we had guest readers including some of the Police Officers and Fireman in our ward.

I set a reading goal for our school. They had to make a reading chain that went all the way around the courtyard area. The kids made their goal and so they got to choose 2 teachers to get pied. They choose Mrs. Eagar and Mrs. Sanchez. It was pretty messy and funny. They were good sports about it.

Reading Week was a lot of work but it was pretty fun too.

Nice Work If You Can Get It

Saturday, February 28, 2015

Uncle Lee got free tickets to see "Nice Work If You Can Get It" at the Smith Center. He wasn't able to go so he gave them to Camryn and I and we shared with the Shafers.

The seats were very close and were just awesome.

I had never heard of this show, but I knew a few of the songs.  It was a cute love story set in Prohibition times.

It was a fun night out with Cam.

Random things that Happened in February

Sunday, February 1, 2015

We went to Ryan's for our annual Super Bowl hang out.  We all brought snacks and we also had a steak dinner.  It was way too much food.

The boys actually watched the game. The women chatted and occasionally watched the commercials.

The teenagers hung out, including girls that think they are teenagers.

And the boys were just thrilled that Lee's family had moved back and they could be together again.

And Jude was just cute.

Tuesday, February 10, 2015

Seth went on a Field Trip to the Smith Center to see a play of Flat Stanley.

Thursday, February 12, 2015

We went to Math & Science Night at Hummel. Seth liked making the phases of the moon with Oreos.

Saturday, February 21, 2015

The Burdens threw a baby shower for Abigail. They talked me into making a dinosaur cake for the party. The Jenkins women went in together to buy a stroller, but I had Cam get the baby a little Transformers shirt.

Tuesday, February 24, 2015

We had a Cruise Ship themed New Beginnings this year. The gym was decorated very cute. We made little chicken salad sandwiches that looked like crabs and the girls were excited that we got goldfish crackers.

There were a few speakers and the girls performed a song.

Camryn was one of the girls they introduced as an incoming Beehive.

February 2015

Jo sent us these pics to announce that she was pregnant.  The one of Jude was cute. The one of Paul was disturbing. I'll never be satisfied by another man!
