Leading up to the Big Day

OSaturday, December 5, 2015

We met up with Bo's family and the Tatums to see Santa. we had a limited time because Lex had to work, so when their camera wasn't working, things fell apart.  She left to go to work, but Cam and Seth still visited Santa.

Friday, December 11, 2015

The Word Christmas Party was during the Henderson Tree Lighting, so Cam was at her Madrigal performance, but the rest of us headed to  the church for dinner and a program. We sat with the Witts and had a good time joking around with them. I tried to get some cute pics of the kids, and the Imlays' kept photo bombing us.

The program included different groups singing, including the YW. It was a nice night to visit with the other ward members.

Lex didn;t dress up much for Winter Spirit Week, but she did dress as an elf for Holiday Character Day.

Lex and Taz                           Trevor and Lex

Lex also visited Ethel M's on a date with Brad this year.

Sunday, December 20, 2015

The Sokol came to watch a BYU football game in Vegas. The girls spent the night a few nights, the adults went to Komex for dinner, and a few of us met up to see the lights on Quiver Point. They were not as god this year - we really missed Spiderman hanging across the middle of the street this year.

Monday, December 21, 2015

We spent a big part of the weekend watching the old Star Wars movies to prep to go see the new one. The Sokol girls fell asleep. Monday morning Dave, Jeff, Cam, Seth, Anna, and I went to see The Force Awakens at the Galaxy Theater. Seth was excited to try out the reclining chairs. We loved the movie, but it's been hard to not talk about it around people who haven't seen it yet.

Wednesday, December 23, 2015

The Shafer's invited us to check out the Holiday decorations a the Bellagio and go to lunch.  Seth was not up to it, so it was just Camryn and I.  It was very crowded! We had lunch at the new Zuppas and ran into the Tatums, Beanie Kuhar, and Gail Nelson there.

That night the Tatums had us meet them at Town Square to see there little Snow Show.  We got Hot Coco and enjoyed their "snow", which turned out to really be bubbles.

We ran into Lex's friend, Alan there with his family.

They played Christmas music and the Tatums danced around a bit.

On the way home, we dropped off a little treat to a ward member and Dave took us to check out this lights on this house. The Santa was huge!

It was a fun night, and after some disappointments this holiday season (NO LIVE NATIVITY!) it got me back in the Christmas Spirit.

Girls Night

Tuesday, December 22, 2015

Lex wanted to have some girlfriend's over for Girls' Night. Chris came over and took some pictures before the girls went to dinner at BJ's.

Lex, Chase, Bezce, Sydney, Vic, Julissa, Brynna, Mel, Kianna, and Kayla

They had a gift exchange. Lex got Perfume from Julissa.

The girl's spent the rest of the night watching movies, eating junk food, wrestling, and joking around.  About half the girls spent the night and had pancakes and egg casserole for breakfast. I'm grateful for the good friends my kids have.

The Jenkins' Early Christmas

Monday, December 21, 2015

There was one day the whole Jenkins Clan would be in Vegas, so we switched our plans around to celebrate Christmas together. Bo and Abigail had Waffle Mania for us - waffles and as many topping for it as you can imagine. Seth wasn't feeling well, so he went to rest in the guest room and just came out to open his presents.

We started our Christmas Exchange, Seth got a Hulk Smasher Lego set.

Lex got black jeans.

And Cam got to be the victim of a pretty mean joke. Wally was supposed to give a gift to Cam, but Bo gave a gift to Jude and pretended like he had gotten it wrong and there would not be a gift for Cam. Turns out that he just had a random gift for Jude and was just playing a joke on Camryn. She got a movie and a scarf.

Dave got Star Wars Episodes 4-6 and I got a new phone case. Grandma had PJ bottoms for the grandkids and Jelly Bellys, freezer jam, and money for each family. Austin was funny and opened his gifts with his teeth.

Bo and Abigail also announced they are expecting July 1st. So this pic of all 32 Jenkins' will be outdated in a short time!

Tree Decorating and Gingerbread Houses

Sunday, December 6, 2015

The kids and Dave picked out a tree on Saturday and we were able to get it decorated the next day. The kids always enjoy talking about where the different ornaments came from and seeing the ones they made when they were young.

I went with the old Jenkins strategy of putting the ornaments up as high as possible and Dave put out the nativity.

It was Seth's turn to put up the star.

We got the tree ready just in time to head over to Ryan's house for a night crammed with activities. We started with London Broil as a birthday dinner for Ryan. We then watched the First Presidency Christmas Devotional. Next up was decorating gingerbread houses. We had to buy kits this year, since mom wasn't around to bake them for us. Seth, Cam, Zach and I worked on our house together. Things got pretty messy.

The Final Products

The Triplet's Minion House               My Team's House

The night ended with the Amazing Race finale. The least annoying team won, so we were pretty happy.  It was a long, fun night together.

Choir Concerts

Thursday, November 5, 2015

Cam had a Fall Concert where only the top music groups performed. She performed as part of Madrigals.  The rest of the family was at Lex's playoff game, so we got there at the very end, but people sent us the video.

Tuesday, November 10, 2015

The Madrigals were invited to performed at the Ethel M's Christmas lighting.  They decorate their whole cactus garden with lights. The choir sang a few songs as Channel 3 did their weather broadcast.

Cam was right behind the weather man during his broadcast and got a lot of TV time.

Thursday, December 17, 2015

The Madrigals performed at the Henderson Tree Lighting and again at the Winter Choir Concert.

The Madrigals opened the concert with Oh, Holy Night, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Carol of the Bells, and Hanukkah Oh Hanukkah. Cam was also in the Concert Choir that sang Up on the Housetop, Christmas in 3 Minutes, Shalom Mel-ahem, and Jingle Bells.  All the choirs ended the concert with Believe from the Polar Express Movie.
