Day 3 - Fort Bridger

Tuesday, June 24, 2014

We thought we were only driving about 4 hours Tuesday, so we got up and leisurely got ready.  We had breakfast with the cousins and gave lots of hugs goodbye.

After 2 hours of driving into Wyoming, we saw a sign for Fort Bridger and thought it would be a great place to stop and make a picnic lunch. Our kids had never heard of Jim Bridger. There was a museum where Cam pretended to pull a handcart and Seth bought a harmonica to bother everyone with (at least it's smaller than drums!).

There was a trading post

and lots of other old buildings to look around in.

As we planned to eat, we realized that Dave's insulin was back at Jac's house in Sandy.  After looking into other options, we decided to drive back and get it.  So we Drove 2 hours back.

We got the insulin, used the bathroom, and got back on the road.

It was really a 6 hour drive to Laramie, Wyoming. So, with the 4 hours of extra driving, we had a really long day.  The kids were actually great the whole time.  We stopped at Penny's Diner for dinner and just kept driving and driving.  Hopefully, this will be the trip's biggest disaster.
