A Week in the Hill House

Alexis received her Faith in God Award. Kids have to set goals to develop talents and grow spiritually throughout 4 years to receive this award. Alexis worked hard and I am proud of her accomplishment. She is so ready to graduate Primary and start the Young Women's program.

Tuesday was the summer's first free family movie. The kids were really excited to see The Chipmunks Squeakquel. Seth's favorite line, which he keeps repeating, was "Shake what your momma gave you!"

Wednesday was my friend, April's birthday. Alexis and her friend Shae were so sweet and watched our kids so we could go to lunch, ALONE! It was very nice and relaxing. Later I watched her boys while she went to the doctor. I helped the kids make little fondant hearts, flowers, and stars they used to decorate this little cake for their mom. They did a good job and had a good time making it.

Later that night, Shae slept over and the girls united forces with the boys next door. Using their ninja-like skills, they attempted to heart attack one family in our neighborhood and toilet paper another family. They choose to heart attack (taping heart shaped pieces of construction paper to plastic forks and sticking the forks in someone's lawn) a house with desert landscaping. They couldn't get the forks to stick into the hard dirt. They decided to move on to TP another house. It was so windy, the TP immediately flew off the trees - then the door opened. They were totally busted. The next night the family exacted revenge and did a lot better job TPing our house, giving Alexis a big mess to clean up.

Seth had his last T-Ball game of the season. They received their trophies after the game. He was so proud of it, and rushed over to show his friend, Allie, as soon as we got home. He loves all things baseball related and is looking forward to playing coach pitched baseball in the fall.

On Sunday, Camryn had her Great to be 8 fireside. The kids learned everything they need to know to prepare for their big day. They listen to talks, took a tour of the font area and dressing rooms, and had a dad and his son show how the kids should hold their hands. As the Primary President's 1st counselor, I talked a little about the girls attending Achievement Day Activities when they turn 8. It was a nice evening and we ended the night with this cake I made and sherbet and Sprite drinks. Camryn still has a year until she will be baptized, but she is already very excited about it.
