Since Seth was turning 11 (the year you go to Hogwarts), it seemed only right to have a Harry Potter themed party. I remade the same cake I had made for Lex's Harry Potter party (I basically redid most of the party from things we had done at both of the girls' parties).
We started off with a craft - we made snitches. We painted Styrofoam balls gold and attached white feathers and made a hook on the top so they could hang them up.
Then we took pictures with the wands we had made out of chopsticks and hot glue. We turned the photos into wanted posters.
Kyler, Cole, Caden, Austin, Zane
Kade, Seth, Blake, Joel, Will, Mason
Then we played some spell related Minute-To-Win-It games.
Flipendo - A spell to knock things back
Taranallegra - A spell to force your opponent dance
Mobiliarbus - A charm to move things with your wand
Waddiwasi -A spell that unsticks an object
Reducto - A spell that blasts objects aside
Caden won the Wingardium Leviosa game (keeping a feather in the air with his breath) and the most of the Minute-To-Win-It games to win the House Cup.
We had a Mystery Dinner, where all the food was labeled with Harry Potter terms like pizza was a witches hat and jelly slug was jello with gummy worms. The kids had to choose 3 items for each of the three courses and were surprised with what they received.
Seth opened presents while we got dinner cleaned up. He got a lot of legos and stikbots.
We had cake and ice cream
after Seth blew out the candles.
The party finished off with the boys watching Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
