Cam's Water Party

Saturday, May 21, 2016

Cam wanted to have a bigger party this year, so we went with a water theme.  We figured it would be plenty warm, but it was actually cold and windy.

We decided to play the water games for a while at the pavilion, then move inside the church. We started with a hot potato game, where you had to pop a water balloon over your head if the music stopped when you were holding the balloon. Courtnie squealed and made funny faces when the music stopped on her.

Next we played a game where you told your blinfolded partner where to throw the water balloons and try to get other teams wet.

Cam had a lot of good friends come and was very excited for Yelanni to be there from across town.

  • The big game was Slip n' Slide Kickball. The kids had to run on the visqueen and slide into kiddie pools that were the bases.

A few girls actually slid.  It was pretty cold though and most of the kids didn't want to get that wet.

We moved inside and the kids changed and ate hotdogs and hamburgers. After a failed attempt at playing games, Camryn opened her presents. She was especailly excited about getting the Alexander Hamilton biography and a Hamilton faced $10 bill.

She made her wish and blew out her candles.

We projected the movie, Pixels, in the gym. The kids kept wanting to walk around the church, which drove us a little crazy.  The party would have been so much better outside! Cam had a good time and that's what counts.
