Utah Adventures

July 14 - 18, 2015

Tuesday

Lex wanted to try a soccer camp at Westminster College in SLC. We thought that was a perfect excuse to visit the Sokols. We happened to be there when the Tatums were visiting also and during Draper Days.  The first night we were there, they had a bike parade. The kids decorated their bikes and scooters and paraded to a park. Seth was pretty into the decorations.

At the park, they had food and games.  We just stayed long enough to have a soda and go through the bouncy obstacle course.

I love that Seth is still young enough to have fun and look silly without being self conscious.

Wednesday

The kids had slept outside in Anna's playhouse. I had to get the kids up early to get Lex to her soccer camp.  Her camp was just from 8-11 each morning.

While Lex was at camp, I took the Littles to Temple Square.

We also took a tour of the Beehive house.

The kids were tired and grumpy so, that was all the sightseeing we did. We picked up Lex and drove her to Layton to spend the day with Tytiana. They only see each other about once a year, so they loved having a day to just hang out.

The rest of us kept on driving to Logan. We spent the afternoon with the Allen family.  We have missed our Fong friends.  We got to meet their brand new baby and we hung out at this park that had a little creek running through it.

Seth and Cayson

The boys made little boats out of bark and leaves.

Around dinner time, we headed over to see the Peerys. They had made us some Welcome signs that were so cute.

We had a good visit during dinner and when we realized we were only 15 minutes away from Idaho, we decided to cross the border to take a picture. Our US map of places we've been was missing an Idaho picture. We got a few with the Peerys.

They wanted to take a picture of themselves being in 2 places at once - straddling the state line. We stopped on the way back for some ice cream.

Seth stayed in Logan with the Peerys the rest of the week, and we drove back to Sandy, picking up Alexis on the way back. It was a long day with lots of driving and I just wanted to get back to Jack's. Lex had to have a unprecedented bathroom break at Micky D's on the way back.

Thursday

After soccer camp, we went up the mountain to hike and see the wildflowers. We had a little picnic then walked up the trail a little bit.

Anna worked on her pie that afternoon.  She was entering the Draper Days Pie Contest the next day.

That night Lex headed over to BYU to see Kansas (Jacob). They hung out with his roommates and he took her on a tour of the campus. Also, Jo caught the girls sleeping like this - creepy!

Friday

Lex and I watched Matthew that afternoon, while the rest of the group went to a water park. They got back just in time to eat more of Jac's amazing food and head off to the big Draper Days Fair.  Jack was in charge of the Pie Contest. I helped serve the pie up to the judges. It was fun and very quaint.

We took a quick look around at the other activities and Anna and Cam tried out this Bungee Bounce. They loved it!

Saturday

We said our goodbyes to the cousins and we met up in the middle to get Seth from the Peerys while Lex finished up her camp. They sent me a few pictures of their adventures together. He had a great week with them and Mason is still his best buddy after a year apart.

We picked up Lex and some lunch and started the drive home. We stopped to have dinner with Grandma and Grandpa in Paragoonah. It was sprinkling as we pulled in but then it poured.  After dinner, we had to drive through a downpour until we got to St. George and it started to ease up. We made it home safe but I was definitely tired of all the driving.
