Partying Like We Were in Paris

Friday, May 31, 2013

Camryn turned 10 and took these cute treats to share with her class.

I was out of town on Cam's birthday so we had to have her party 2 weeks later. She had a Paris themed party and invited McKenna and Heather.  We started with an early dinner of French bread pizza, French fries, and strawberries.

After dinner we headed down to Sunset Park the paint al fresco near the pond.  They each got a beret, a palette, and a set of paints.

We had borrowed some easels from school.

Here are the finished masterpieces:

We were very thirsty and stopped to get slurpees on the way hometo have cake and ice cream.

I had ordered an Eiffel Tower figurine to put on top.

Camyrn opened her presents and got a cute bag, a sleepover game book, a mustache shirt, and other fun little things.

It was getting late, but we drove down Las Vegas Boulevard to the Paris. They got a lot of looks for wearing their berets.

We went to buy tickets to go up the Eiffel Tower and the lady selling the tickets found out it was a birthday party and gave Camryn a Paris pen.

In the elevator, the operator gave facts about the Tower. I found the elevator ride with the glass doors pretty freaky. It was pretty high up.

It was a great view to see all the lights of the city.

We staked out a good spot to watch the fountains at the Bellagio.  It was cool to watch from above.

We didn't get home until almost midnight. I went to bed but the girls stayed up playing games and watched Phantom of the Opera because it is set in France.

The next morning I took the girls to Crepe Expectations.  The girls got fruit filled crepes that were delicious.

It was a fun party and much cheaper than taking Camryn to Paris, France!
