Jolynn hid this star in our house and it just blended in with other things. When we finally noticed it we decided to pass it on to Ryan's house. We snuck over one day while everyone was gone. It is displayed pretty prominently in their living room and they have never mentioned it.

September 10, 2017

We have taken Will Jackson to do some of our activities on our Pogo Pass. As a thank you, the Jackson brought us a delicious apple pie. The crust was so flakey!

September 11, 2017

Lex went to True Eagle with her friend Kali. The tradition is to kiss a boy over a special decorated rock.  Since they were both single, this is as close to a kiss as it gets!

Labor Day Weekend

August 31 - September 2, 2017

Lex's soccer team came down to Vegas for the CSN preseason tournament. 

We took Lex, Kali, and Tristan to Cheesecake Factory for an Adoption Day dinner. Her cheesecake came on a plate that said Gotcha Day! on it.

They won both their games and the tournament. Lex had a sweet assist. 

We took Lex and Taryn to get a Nevada Burrito at Faustos after their second game. It is a new favorite of Dave's.

I had gotten tickets to see George Strait at The TMobile Arena from a coworker. Kim went with me. It was fun, even though Kim didn't know any of the songs. 

SHS Soccer 2017

Fall 2017

Cam was talking to some girls on the B team for soccer and they told her that they needed more players, so Cam decided to join. It was a rough season and they lost every game, but Cam had fun and got to know new people. It was fun to watch Cam try something new.

At the end of the season, the girls had a banquet. Cam got a certificate and they had a fun potluck dinner.

Who's Got Spirit?

Fall 2017

Lex made the USUE Cheer Team. She had to go up to Utah for a camp the last week of July. We learned cheers and some tumbling.

After the camp, she stayed at Jack's for a few days. She needed to replenish all those calories that had used up at camp.

In the fall the cheer team performed at volleyball games and in the winter at basketball games. Lex had a lot of fun and it was a lot less drama than soccer this year.

  







  

Smith Center - Fall Shows

We got season tickets to the Smith Center. Our tickets are soooo high up but we are happy to be able to go. The first show was "Something Rotten". It was about two playwrights trying to pit on a musical during Shakespeare's time. There a lot of jokes about other musicals and quite a bit of innuendo. I didn't notice until half way through there weren't really and other kids there. It was enlightening to see what jokes the kids got.

Our second show at The Smith Center was The Little Mermaid. We didn't love the singing or the "underwater" movements of the actors. The actors were doing wire work and were swishing around like they were swimming, but then when they were on stage they kept moving like that. It was so annoying.

1st Day of School

School started way too early this year. Dave is in his 17th year of teaching. He is the technology Humanities teacher at Gragson ES.

I am in my 12th year of teaching as the Librarian at Hummel ES.

Camryn is a Freshman at Silverado HS. She is in Student Council and taking Spanish, theater, and lots of Honors classes this year.

Seth is a 6th grader at Schofield MS. He is also taking Honors classes and got into Intermediate band, due to his drumming experience.

We went to Blaze Pizza to celebrate making it through the 1st day.
