Prom 2015

Saturday, April 18, 2015

After months of shopping and stressing over finding a dress, it was finally the day of Prom.  Melissa was kind enough to spend part of her birthday doing Lex's make-up and hair. Lee was actually pretty helpful with the hair too.

Robbie and his mom came over to do the whole corsage/boutonniere exchange.  Robbie got Lex daisies, which are her favorites.

I made Robbie's boutonniere. Lex couldn't get it on  - so his mom had to take over. They headed off to the park for pictures.

Chris came to take some pics and they turned out so beautiful!

Then they went over to take pics with the group.

They had a Hummer limo to drive them around.

They ate dinner at Brio in Town Square.

Robbie was on Prom Court, so they actually went to the dance.  The line was too long for the formal pictures so they just used the photo booth and took silly pictures.

After the dance, they headed to the Bellagio to see the Conservatory.

They stopped home to change into jeans and then went to Robbie's to watch a movie.  They had a good time and Lex loved her dress and looked beautiful in it.

Wallace Alan Jenkins

Wednesday, April 8, 2015

I took Abigail to see a screening of "The Long Ride" on Tuesday night. We were a little late, so we had to run through Town Square and up a long flight of stairs to get in.  The movie was sweet and we had a scare on the drive home. Something about the adventure got Abigail's labor started and she had Wallace the next day. My kids and I took Bo some dinner at the hospital and met their new cousin.

Bo said I was the first to hold him besides his parents and I thought that was kinda funny since I was the first to hold Bo when he was born.

Bo and Abigail kept the baby's name a secret, they were not interested in anyone's opinion. They named him Wallace after our Grandpa Jenkins, which is sweet.

Here are some pics Chris took of him and his proud parents:

Promposal

Wednesday, March 18, 2015

Robbie had planned a sweet Promposal on a day he did not have practice.  I had last prep, so I left school to let him in our house. He left a note on Lex's car and sent her on a Scavenger Hunt to places that are special to them - Courtney's House (they met a a Halloween party there), Adam's House (they hung out there after a New Year's Eve dance), Duck Creek Park (they like to swing there), and Colton's house (she got stuck there a while because she didn't know the gate code).

The Scavenger Hunt ended at our house, where Robbie had put a trail of rose petals and Hershey kisses to the bathroom.

This poster was hung in the shower.

He also had some beautiful roses to give her. Lex,of course, said yes.

Lex wanted to say yes to Prom in a more elaborate way. She collected lots of pictures of things they had done together and printed them. She wrote "Remember when . . ." with a memory on the back of each one. Then we went to his house and tied each memory to a helium balloon. We decorated his room with the memories.

Lex hung this little sign on the door that said, "Can't wait to make more memories at prom."

Robbie had been out of town at a Lacrosse tournament and flew back late that night. I think it was a good surprise to come home to.
