"The Show"

Thursday, November 7, 2013

Camryn's Hollywood Kids class has a talent show twice a year.  This fall, Camryn sang "The Show", inspired by Anna's rendition at a family talent show at the cabin. She sounded great and her voice is very suited to songs that have a little folksy twang to it.

The whole class also performed a song from their upcoming Aladdin show.

Camryn loves to perform and is so comfortable on stage, it is fun for me to watch.

Trunk or Treat

October 31, 2013

I love that the family gets together at our Trunk or Treat, so I can see all the costumes.  The Tatums were Carl, Ellie, and Russell from Up.

Bo and Abigail were Mike Weston and Fiona from Burn Notice, because when you are a spy you must go where the candy is.

They had chili and a few games inside, then the kids made their rounds in the parking lot. Alexis had been injured at soccer and had to hobble around on crutches.

Seth and Mason were silly together.

And Cam diligently collected as much candy as possible.

Zack came home with us to trick-or-treat around our neighborhood.  After going around a little, we heard about a cool pirate house and decided to go there.

The house was decorated all around the outside, through the backyard.  It was Disney quality decorations.  The kids thought it was so cool and it saved me from trudging around trick-or-treating with them.

Flashback to the 40's

October 31, 2013

The kids had a 40's theme going on this year.

Alexis was Rosie the Riveter.

Cam was Peggy from the Captain America movie.

And Seth was Captain America. (This is the first time I ever bought a costume form the store)

I always feel the need to be a book character - so I was Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games.

Fall Festival

Wednesday, October 30, 2013

Fong ES had their annual Fall Festival the night before Halloween.  I ran the Book Fair, while the kids played games and went through the Haunted House.

One of the teacher's brothers came to do caricatures.  It was getting too dark for him to draw, but he kindly took the kids' picture and drew the picture later.  It turned out so cute.

Painting Pumpkins

Sunday, October 27, 2013

We had a busy week in front of us and knew there was not a good time to carve pumpkins.  We found some cute ideas for painting them online and decided to give it a try.  The pumpkins turned out great and the kids actually were more involved, since I don't usually let them wield knives.

Seth made an orange M&M.

Cam made Mike Wazowski.

And I made a Minion.

Baptism Day

October 17, 2013

We had family in town for the wedding, so Seth decided to be baptized on his 8th birthday, while they were still here.  He asked members of the family to participate in the service.  Zack and Anna gave the prayers.  Uncle Bo and Grandpa Jenkins gave the talks.  The cousins sang "When I Am Baptized" and Camryn sang a solo.  The service was short and sweet.

Seth was baptized and confirmed by his dad.

We served cake and ice cream after the service and spent time visiting with friends and family.  Seth was happy to have his best friend, Mason, there.

When we got the church all cleaned up, the family headed over to our house for a family dinner.

Seth opened his presents.  He got a lot of tie tacks and his first set of scriptures.

We are so proud of our Sethie for making this important decision.  I know the gospel will bless his life.

Going to the Temple and They're Gonna Get Married

Monday, October 7, 2013

Bo returned from his mission, not quite a year ago and fairly quickly began dating Abigail.  They fell in love "in December, after New Years".  Bo proposed Memorial Day weekend at the pond above the cabin, after Abigail asked him, "Bo, when will you be mine?"  They had been preparing for the big day and it finally arrived.  Chris did a shoot with them early in the week and took this amazing picture.

Friday, October 11, 2013

I took off Friday to work on the cake.  Jacquelynn got to town and made us work on a silly poem about the happy couple, then took the kids to Town Square while I finished up my decorating.  Both families got together for dinner at Macayo's.

Saturday, Ocotober 12, 2013

Having received a golden ticket in our invitation, we arrived at the temple at 2:00 for the sealing.  It was great to be in the temple with my parents and siblings.  I teared up, but Dave really cried! As we waited for Bo and Abigail to come out, we took some pictures in the atrium.

The reception was at the Earl's home.  They have an amazing backyard.

Bo had sent us all multiple emails on what the family should wear to the wedding.  They were not having an official bridal party, just the family wearing their colors, oranges and blue.  The emails got pretty silly and in response Lee got this outfit for the reception.

The Cake (I didn't even cry making it!)

Seth and Anna (the self proclaimed flower girl)

Bo had Camryn sing "Home" by Phillip Phillpis.  It was really sweet, Bo teared up as she sang.

Everything turned out so nice and it was a wonderful day for our family.  We are happy to welcome Abigail into our family.
