We started our day by driving to Cooperstown to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame. This was the special activity Seth had chosen, but Dave was pretty excited about it also.
We started with a video about the impact of baseball on our culture in a theater that was created to look like a ballpark.
Seth loved seeing the Babe Ruth memorabilia.
Alexis found a picture of Bryce Harper who plays for the Nationals. She met him a few times at the Haycocks house.
We saw exhibits about the invention of baseball, famous stadiums, records that have been set, and the hall with plaques of each Hall of Famer.
The kids liked the Education Room, where you could try on old uniforms.
We also checked out Doubleday Field where they used to play a Hall of Fame exhibition game each year. Seth got a ball, shirt, and some baseball cards to remember his day.
Because we have been trying not to eat out on Sundays, we let Lex pick where she wanted to eat her birthday dinner when we got to Palmyra on Saturday evening. She wanted chocolate chip pancakes, so we headed to Denny's (the first place we have eaten out this whole trip at a restaurant that is in Vegas).
The kids went in the back of the huge field to play soccer and met some local boys they played Frisbee with. They told us the best seats were on the grass in the back, so we moved back and set up our blankets.
The pageant started as it was getting dark. There was a full moon - Seth joked that he was a little worried about the wolf on Lex's shirt coming to life and attacking us. The pageant had over 500 people in it and depicted key scenes from the Book of Mormon.
We really enjoyed the show, but hung out a bit afterwards to avoid some of the traffic. Lex got a picture with her Frisbee friends, Gunner and Ben. It was hard being out so late, but we had a good talk on the way back to the hotel.
