The things the kids love about staying in hotels are: the work out room, the pools, and the hot chocolate. I've had to set a limit that they can only have one hot chocolate a day.
We spent our 2nd Boston day on the Freedom Trail. We had signed up for a walking tour with Free Tours by Foot. At the end you just pay as much as you deem fit. Our guide was a pretty zany guy named Brian. He was very enthusiastic and had interesting stories, he just had difficulty focusing. Squirrel!
We started the tour in Boston Commons and went right across the street to see the new City Hall (designed by Bullfitch - who the Cheers bar is named after. Last time I was in Boston seeing that bar is the only thing I really did).
We went to the Grainery Cemetery and saw where Samuel Adams, Paul Revere, and John Hancock are buried.
We saw the old City Hall with a statue of Ben Franklin in front of it and the Old South Church where they rallied for the Boston Tea Party.
We saw the Old State House where the Boston Massacre occurred.
It was about a 2 hour tour and we were ready for lunch when it was over. We ate at a deli that the guide recommended, Sam LaGrassa's. It was good but crowed and loud. We spent the rest of the day driving on to Albany.
