We drove most of the day. Lex and I are still the least likely to stop for a potty break. All the breaks slow us down. When we pulled into Gettysburg, we found that our hotel was in the middle of the battle ground, just feet from Cemetery Hill Cemetery. There are dead people in the backyard!
We had booked a ghost tour and while we were waiting we saw this Zoltar machine in front of the tour building, just like the one in the movie "Big". Cam had her fortune told - she won't let me read it!
The tour was just walking around a street, while our guide "Spooky" told stories about the war and claims of ghost sightings. Our guide was funny and quite theatrical. It had rained about a half hour before our tour, so there was a rainbow.
The kids looked for ghosts along the creek bank, where many soldiers were carried away by the water.
We took a picture of the oldest building in Gettysburg, the Dobin House, built in 1776. Look at the strange lights behind Seth!
It was a fun little tour, but I wish we could have gone in some buildings.
We stopped in a little shop for ice cream and walked back to the hotel.
Across from our hotel is this overlook of the battlefield.
Seth was so interested in the battle, we watched a bit of the movie, "Gettysburg", before going to sleep.
