UT Visit

I went to spend a few days a the Sokols, where Lex is living this semester. I played SO many games. Matthew loved this monkey game the best.

That night Jac, Lex and I went to The Lucky 13 Bar and got hamburgers, Lex ordered the one that is basically a dare. This place was on a list that Jac is working her way through with the best burgers in SLC. The burger was good, but the sauce is what should be on a BEST list.

While I was gone, Dave had Lee's kids one night. The next morning, the boys all went to Brother White's work to check out his construction equipment for a YM activity. It was a fun day for the boys to be staying over.

Lex's plan for Saturday was to visit the Utah Capital Building. We walked around and watched workers putting up student artwork and saw memorabilia from Utah, including from the movie the Sandlot.

  

  

Then Anna wanted to show us the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Museum. They gave the kids a list of items to "hunt" for asa we walked through. This two headed sheep was pretty disturbing.

Later, Tristan came to take Lex out on a date and we worked on helping him get more comfortable with babies.

I got up early and went to yoga with Juliet and and Jac before church. I had never done yoga before and I enjoyed it. Church was interesting - when Matthew walked in, he grabbed all the programs off a chair by the door and threw them over the congregation. Making it rain at church!

Later Lex and I went to dinner at Tristan's house and I met a few more members of his family. the food was good and everyone was so nice. I was good to see where he came from. The Booths gave me some horchata to try, which was not as good as the "nuch" jac gave me to drink (diet Dr. Pepper, with coconut cream in it).

Lex won a $500 shopping spree at Down East. She bought an end table, lots of clothes, and dresses for me, Cam, and Jac, so sweet of her to share!

Even though Shae was gone, the girls from Lex's HS group carried on the tradition of celebrating Girl's Night. Paige Lee hosted this year.

The girls exchanged gifts, took pictures, and went to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory.

Lex used her Christmas money from Grandma and Grandpa to get her hair did. She got a trim and dyed it a bit darker.

Friday, December 29, 2017.

I took Lex to the dentist and got caught in a speed trap. Sadly, that is how I spent my Christmas money.

We met up with Dave, Seth, and Donna at the Las Vegas Lion Habitat after the dentist to use our Pogo Passes.

We got there in just enough time to see Ozzie, the giraffe create some paintings and be fed by some of the patrons.

They had about 30 lions. They mostly slept and laid about, but a few got roaring at each other through their cages.

This worker told us a bit of the history of the ranch. All the lions are descendants of the original MGM lion and the lions used to be transported to the hotel daily, but now just stay at the ranch.

Another Pogo Pass adventure was to visit the Nevada Climbing Center. Lex brought her friend, Brandon along.

  

The kids balayed for each other and took turns racing. Lex was pretty quick.

Lex and Beanie took Seth and Kade to Flippin' Out, a trampoline park.  They spent the afternoon jumping and doing flips.

  

Saturday, January 6, 2018

Seth and I took Uncle Bo and Wally to use our tickets at the Children's Discovery Museum. The water room is a favorite.

  

We watched a science presentation, made crafts, and played.

We ended our day together at CiCi's for a pizza buffet.

With New Year's being on Sunday, the church threw their big dance on Saturday Night. 

Cam went with Taylor and Jordan. She had a fun night.

Sunday, December 31, 2018

The next night Cam went to hang out with Taylor's family at their cousin, Josie's house. They hung out, played games, and set off fireworks. The rest of the family went to Uncle Ryan's. Lex hung out with Chase for a bit before heading out.

We ate ham sliders, corn dip, and tons of other treats, as we played games.

The kids watched movies and crashed.

We watched the local countdown at midnight and drank our sparkling cider.

Lex ended up hanging out with some friends she had made working at Tahiti Village.
