March 21-23, 2014
We had a missionary themed Youth Conference this year. They had games Friday night, including a missionary Fear Factor with gross things to eat.
Saturday, the Mission President and his cute wife spoke before the kids were split into groups. Each group was assigned to visit a family in the stake, where they learned about and ate food from a particular country. I ended up at the Davis' house where after the kids taught them an awkward 1st discussion, Sis. Davis talked about her mission to Argentina. We made a traditional meal (breaded fried steak and potatoes) and talked about the culture there.
Alexis went to a house representing Germany. She hated the food so I ran to the store to grab some snacks. Saturday afternoon the kids rotated through stations - playing games, writing letters to missionaries, and outdoor fun. The highlight was the bouncey obstacle course.
Lex and I stopped by Seth game on the way home and a kid at the park asked us if we sold pictures of Jesus. We were confused, then we remembered we were wearing our tag and tie shirts. This kid was so cute! The weekend ended with a dance Saturday night and a testimony meeting on Sunday evening.
