Baptism Day

Saturday, June 9, 2012

About a year ago, Heidi Miller joined our soccer team.  Alexis has become really good friends with Heidi and her twin sister, Taylor, throughout their 8th grade year.  Several months ago, the girls started coming to church with us.  They took the missionary lessons at the Haycock's house with Josh, another friend from school.  All three young people were baptized this weekend.  Heidi asked me to give the talk on baptism, Alexis was asked to bear her testimony, and Dave confirmed Heidi on Sunday.  We are so excited to have all three join the church and our ward.  I am very grateful for the great friends that Alexis has.

School's Out For Summer

Wednesday, June 6, 2012

On Wednesday, Seth had a End of the Year Program for all the parents.  They sang songs - Seth was the star of The Grand Old Flag song.  It was very cute.

After the program, they served drinks and cookies in the kindergarten playground.  Seth got an end of the year picture with his awesome teacher, Mrs. Landsem.

Seth and Cayson showed me their special tree that they walk around.

Cayson was Seth's best kindergarten buddy.  We are planning for them to be in the same 1st grade class too.

Thursday was the last day of school.  We got an End of the Year shot with Ms. Meznarich, Camryn's amazing 3rd grade teacher.  Both of my little dragons had a great year at Fong.

School got out at 12:40, but I had to work the rest of the day.  The kids had pizza and hung out with other teacher's kids in the library.  They fell asleep on the way home, worn out after the long school year.

Dying to Look Cool

Alexis wanted to end her Middle School career with purplish hair.  We got burgundy dye that washes out after a few weeks.  She loved it!

Mother of the Year

Saturday, June 9, 2012

The best moms don't getting their screaming child out of the laundry basket they are stuck in - they get their camera!

Fong's Got Talent

Thursday May 31, 2012

Camryn and two of her classmates, Hannah & Ana, tried out for the school talent show.  They did a comedy act where Camryn was wearing a large shirt and Hannah stuck her arms through the sleeves.  They said Camryn was their teacher, Ms. Mez getting ready for school.  They ate yogurt, brushed teeth, and put on make up.  Camyrn really hammed it up.  They were the last act and closed out the show with their hilariousness. The next day everyone asked me how a quiet little librarian has such an actress for a daughter. I really don't know!

Memorial Day Weekend at the Cabin

May 25-28, 2012

Memorial Day Weekend found us without sporting events, so we decided to head up to the cabin, bringing Heidi with us and meeting up with aunts, uncles, and cousins there.  We left after school on Friday, stopping at KFC on the way up.  We got there late and read and played games until we were ready to go to sleep.

On Saturday, we went to the store for ice cream, but there were some snow flurries that convinced us to get hot chocolate instead.

When Jo & Paul and Ryan and his family got there, the kids spent time outside, while the adults read and played games.  Zack wanted to take down a deer with the bow and his one arrow that had no tip.

Later we had pizza for dinner, played spoons, and had cinnamon rolls.  Spoons got a little dangerous.

On Sunday, we all went to church, then Jac's family arrived.  Sunday night included a talentless talent show. My talent was to read a book -  I just sat there reading silently. Zack did a little puppet skit.

Seth sang The Car Song.

Jac & Jeff sang a song from Mulan Rouge.

The teenagers had an air guitar band

Camryn & Ana did some sort of nonverbal skit, called Fire Girls. Ana & Juliet also sang a song about goats.

The next day the boys fished, everyone cleaned and we headed home.  Weekends with so many at the cabin are loud but fun.

Choir Chicks

May 2012

The girls had Choir Concerts this month.  Camryn's was short and sweet.  Mrs. Wharton did a great job with this group of kids. The Honor Choir also went to a Music Festival to preform for other schools.

Alexis' concert was a little - ok, a lot - longer.  I was a little sad that this was our last time to tease her about the green dresses. Alexis also participated in the Choirs in the Park Festival.  Her Madrigal group went to California to perform and also got to go to Disneyland and Medieval Times.
