About 7:15 am, I went into the under the stairs closet to get some soup to take to work for lunch. My sock snagged on something in there and I went down. I felt a little pop, but I could still walk and move my toes, so I thought it would swell up and hurt for a day or two - that's it. Well I went to work and around noon it was hurting bad enough that I had to go to the Quick Care. I got an xray and sure enough it was broken. I went to an Ortho Dr the next day and he said it would take 4-6 weeks to heal. I get to wear this awesome boot!

We took the kids to see Santa early this year to avoid long lines. They told Santa they had been good, so good must a a relative term. Alexis asked for an iPod Touch. Camryn asked for a blue bike, and Seth asked for an art set.

The twins spent the night Thursday, then we got up early to help at Taz' Eagle Project.

We helped paint a big USA map at a nearby Elementary School. There was a lot of help and the work got done quickly. There were so many kids and men working, the women mostly "supervised". It was nice to visit with my friends.

After a few hours at the school, we stopped by a charity bake sale and headed to Sunset Park. We met up with Dave, Paul, Camryn, and Seth for a bike ride.

They rode from the main park to a connected satellite park, where we had a picnic lunch.

When the group got back from the ride, the kids started feeding the ducks, geese, and pigeons leftover Cheetos. The birds attacked! It was kinda freaky.

It was a nice outing and time spent together.

LV Galaxy

Fall 2011

Last spring, we had a really disappointing soccer season, so I talked Ryan into coaching a team for Alexis and the twins LV Galaxy.

We expected for at least part of the old team to come with us, due to the amount of complaints I had heard throughout the season. We had tryouts and no one came over! We ended up with players that almost all came from rec. They are a great group of girls.

Ryan has been a great coach. He spends a lot of time explaining things to the girls and breaking down the games that they play.

We have had a pretty good season. We have come a long way. We played our old team twice and beat them, which felt pretty good. I hope to see us continue to grow and prepare for high school soccer.

We celebrated a Peace Week at school. We talked a lot about getting along with others even if they are different.

Too Much Candy!

The cousins came over to do some old fashioned door-to-door trick or treating. We hit every house in the neighborhood that had their porch light on.

It took an hour and a 1/2 to go to all the houses. The buckets got so heavy and Seth started to get really tired. When we finally got back to the house, the kids all dumped out their candy and started trading - it sounded like a game of Pit. We had somehow ended up with more candy than we started with!

This year we ended up with 4 pumpkins. Camyrn decorated the blue one at her art class, and Seth and I made the yellow one together.

Then we carved two Nightmare Before Christmas pumpkins, Jack Skellington and Oogie Boogie.

Trunk -or-Treat

After the Halloween Photo Shoot, we headed off to the Las Palmas Ward Trunk-or-Treat. We set up chairs and settled in to hand out candy. The kids took off, not needed us to walk around with them anymore.
